Facades

Visitors of the EUR in Rome may not even be aware that the area is the result of an architectural vision of Benito Mussolini. Their monumental buildings formed the core of the forward-looking new center of Rome after the Second World War. Mussolini wanted to return to Rome’s former glorious days as the greatest city in the world. In Mussolini’s vision, the city would become the capital of a new fascist Roman Empire.

Rome was the starting point of this series. The underlying basic idea probably counts for all big rural aggregations.
