The Making Of
The equipment
The originals were taken with my Leica M6, my Canon R6 or my iPhone Pro. Some of the images taken with the Leica can also be viewed in the Leica magazine LFI.
The image transformation
The negatives are transferred to the computer using a Canon scanner. The quality of the scan is often reduced in order to achieve certain image effects. Examples of this are the images from the series “The End”. Some images are also made up of several individual images and were stitched together on the computer. “Last Man Standing” will be used as an example. This image consists of four individual images that were stitched together using Photoshop.
The artwork proofing
A major challenge when creating artwork is always color fidelity. To ensure the best possible and stable results, we use Canon printers (Canon imagePROGRAF 300) with 10 color tanks and pigment colors. The preferred paper is the Glossy FineArt series from Hahnemühle.
